Centro Colegio de Tarlac, Inc.

Let knowledge grow, let life be enriched

The year 2003 saw the birth of Twin Hearts School of Practical Nursing, the predecessor of Centro Colegio de Tarlac, Inc. It was the most unexpected coincidences that the school was founded

During one of the trips to the United States of America of the school founder, Mrs. Erlinda D. Tiglao, she met the president of Professionals International Company Inc., Mr. Mars Dela Cuesta. It was during this casual meeting where the two discussed the possibility of a partnership wherein Mrs. Tiglao would establish a practical nursing school in the Philippines and Mr. Dela Cuesta would facilitate the employment of the graduates.

Thus, upon returning to the Philippines, Mrs. Erlinda Tiglao initiated the establishment of Twin Hearts School of Practical Nursing. Atty. Maria Amalia Tiglao-Cayanan was entrusted with the establishment and operation of the school. The school offered then a one-year certificate in Practical Nursing. But this course was designed only for professionals who already graduated from college. The first campus was established at the 2nd and 3rd floors of the Cayanan Building located at Mc Arthur Highway cor. Tizon Dr., Sto. Rosario, Capas, Tarlac.

It was in 2006, when Twin Hearts opened its doors to high school graduates and offered a two-year course in Practical Nursing, two-year course in Pharmacy Technology, and 6 months course in Medical Transcription.

The school marked another milestone in the year 2008 when it offered a Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Restaurant Management, under its new name, Centro Colegio de Tarlac, Inc. It was also in this year when the school transferred to its new location in Metro Bamban Subd., Brgy. Anupul, Bamban, Tarlac, in order to have a more spacious campus to enable the school to offer additional courses under the Department of Education (DepEd), Technical Education Skills and Development Authority (TESDA), and the Commission on Higher Education (CHED). The transfer to the new campus in Bamban, Tarlac was made possible because of the kindhearted couple, Mr. Jose Romeo Lansang Cayanan and his wife, Mrs. Magdalena Dizon Cayanan, who, not only generously reserved a whole block inside the subdivision they owned for the exclusive use of the school, but also initiated the construction of the school buildings thereat.

Because of its consistent effort to maintain high academic standards, the school has turned out graduates who have actively involved themselves in the community and have become successful individuals in their respective milieu and assets in their respective professions and communities. Its Practical Nursing course was accredited by some of the states in the United States of America, and with its US Based curriculum, the school has adequately given its students the quality education they need to endure the contemporary world inside and outside the country.

In 2009, Centro Colegio de Tarlac, Inc offered Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice. The graduates of this course have steadily and successfully hurdled the licensure exams for Criminology and the school’s passing rate is consistently higher than the national passing rate.

Centro Colegio de Tarlac, Inc now offers four (4) year Bachelor’s degree courses under the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), short courses under the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) and four (4) Senior High School tracks under the Department of Education (DepEd). The school commits to offer additional relevant courses in the next five years.

In 2018, the Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education (UAQTE) was enacted into law. The national government, through CHED and PEAC, has given the Tertiary Education Subsidy (TES) to qualified tertiary students. Bonafide college students of Centro Colegio de Tarlac, Inc. who were officially enrolled became recipients of TES, this scheme unburdened the students and their parents of their financial difficulties and most were able continue their studies.
